41 University’s Evaluation Unit (ULe) University’s Evaluation is a tool which students can use to provide feedback on their study programme. The evaluation process of teaching is aimed at ensuring the highest teaching standards and identifying possible improvements. To this end, the project develops scientifically-sound survey tools to support and promote the dialogue between the people involved, i.e. teachers and students. Students are encouraged to take part in the evaluations on all levels and provide their personal feedback—whether it is on individual courses, in which students provide their tutors with feedback through a survey, or in subject-specific questionnaires in which students evaluate the entire study programme. All evaluations are anonymous and voluntary. It is vital that as many students as possible become actively involved in the feedback process, as this increases the reliability of the results. ule.uni-jena.de/en Student working group Quality Development in Teaching The student working group Quality Development in Teaching (Studierenden-AG Qualitätsentwicklung in der Lehre) offers another way of participating away from the existing bodies through which students can identify problems. The student working group is directed by the Vice-President for Learning and Teaching. Its meetings generally take place once a semester on the invitation of the Vice-President. The agenda is based on student’s proposals. In addition to subject-related representatives and representatives of the Student Representative Council (StuRa), any other interested parties can also participate. uni-jena.de/studierendenag Green Office A colourful university needs green ideas!
