51 Family Office On the website of the Family Office (JuniFamilie), you will find a lot of information on reconciling family life and study. uni-jena.de/en/familienbuero Full-day or flexible child care In addition to the advisory services for student parents and the options available for part‐ time studies and special study plans, you can also opt for a child care at the University—from a flexible child care (e.g. hourly) at ›JUni Kids‹ (JuniKinder) to a full-day child care in the four Studierendenwerk day-care centres. For other local day-care options, please visit the website of the City of Jena city council: service-jena.de/en/kita-place-search-and-allocation Meet other parents at the University and attend one of the many family-friendly events, for example a family brunch (Familienbrunch). You may find exact dates in the newsletter published by the Family Office or on the University Facebook page (see p. 61). Baby welcome packages Every student’s child receives a baby welcome package with a wide range of useful items and tips for parents. You can claim your package at the INFOtake on the Ernst-Abbe-Platz campus. Canteen meals for children By the way, with the children’s IDs issued by the Studierendenwerk, all children can eat for free with their parents in the Studierendenwerk canteens. Please visit the INFOtake to apply for an ID at Ernst-Abbe-Platz. Other advisory centres Jena University Hospital also offers an advisory service for students with children: uniklinikum-jena.de/pflege/familienbuero Equal Opportunities Office The University’s Equal Opportunities Office provides all students with advice and support in matters relating to equal opportunities in your studies. Among other things, this office addresses organizing your studies (e.g. studying with children) and advises in cases of sexual harassment, or difficulties within the University. Zukunftstag Zukunftstag, which literally translates as ›Future day‹, is a major fixture within the University calendar (every year). At this event, visitors should learn more about stereotypically genderspecific professions.
