You can contact their advisory centres for various challenges: stw-thueringen.de/en/counselling Social Counselling advises on: financing your studies through a gainful employment, the social benefits of the Studierendenwerk (loans, coupons), benefits for soon-to-be mothers and students with children, entitlements from social services (child support, financial support schemes, welfare benefits, housing benefits, family allowances), potential savings (exemption from the radio and television license fee, social tariff available from Telekom), framework of studies (health insurance and other insurances, organizing your studies), questions from students with disabilities or students with chronic illnesses, questions from international students. Contact the Psychosocial Counselling if you: are suffering from problems with studying and working, are having difficulties meeting people, are burdened by conflicts with parents, partner or flatmates; often feel overwhelmed or insecure, suffer from nerves due to your examinations and other worries, are constricted by depressive moods, are at risk of becoming addicted to something or are already addicted (the Internet, drugs, food), often have doubts about yourself or your studies, have the feeling your studies are never ending, or require information about psychotherapy. Legal advice service The Studierendenwerk also offers an expert legal advice service within the framework of its responsibility according to the section 3 subsection 1 of the Thuringian Act on Studierendenwerk (Thüringer Studentenwerksgesetz, ThürStudWG).
